Year 5

Due to the lockdown now in force up to February half-term, we will be providing home learning information and resources on this page of the school website, as well as on your child's Seesaw log-in.

If you do not currently have your child's Seesaw log-in to hand, please email the school office and we will forward you the necessary details. Seesaw will be vital this half-term as children will need to upload their work to the platform, and teachers are providing videos with teaching input there.

For these first couple of days, we have provided an initial 2-day home learning pack - the link to download the pdf file is on this page. This consists of Maths and English activities for each day, along with a PSHE task to be completed across the days. Children also have access to TT Rockstars and Sumdog, and should continue to read each day.

As the week progresses, we will update this page with further Remote Learning. As in the first lockdown, children will receive a daily timetable of activities. Each day will include English work, Maths work, and work from other subjects - this will be current curriculum work, which will also be completed by those children who are physically in school. Any activity sheets (e.g. Maths worksheets) will be provided for download on this web page. Teacher video links to support children with their remote learning will be provided daily on Seesaw.

Children also have access to Sumdog, TT Rockstars and Linguascope. Again, if children require passwords for these, please email school and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Year 5 children will also be receiving links to 'Reading Plus' this half-term, which is an excellent online comprehension program, and which we will launch remotely in the coming weeks.

If you wish your children to complete any additional work, there are lots of educational providers offering further online lessons and resources. For example, The Oak National Academy is providing daily content for every year group.
