Year 6

On this page, you will find plans and resources for your child's home learning, as well as on their Seesaw log-in.

By 9:00 am latest on a Monday morning, teachers will have provided a Timetable for the upcoming week’s work. This will be a pdf file and will appear on the class Home Learning page of the school website for viewing, downloading or printing.

There will then be a Daily Plan pdf file posted on each day of the week by 9:00 am latest to give more detail about that day’s activities. This will include reference to teaching videos and content provided on Seesaw by the class teacher, and links to external sites such as White Rose Maths, YouTube videos etc required for the activity. It will also mention other pdf resources that will be available on the class Home Learning page and needed for that day’s work.

Each day there are 5 activities for children to complete. The first 3 of these are the day’s main activities – English, Maths and a foundation subject (which will rotate for variety). The 4th and 5th activity will be shorter activities – things like spelling work; stories; PE workouts; links to our Oakdene songs; and activities on our subscription apps and sites such as Linguascope and Sumdog.

Even if files are uploaded on to the Home Learning page earlier in the week, we would highly recommend doing each day’s set work on the given day. That way, teachers are able to provide the video input that will support the children at home, and can also concentrate on questions and provide feedback for that day’s work.

Children should upload evidence of their completed tasks to Seesaw ideally by the end of that day. However, we are aware that children may be completing their work at different times depending on their access to the online resources.

Please contact us via our school office if you have any difficulty accessing any of our resources, or if you cannot find any of your log-in information. Children can always ask questions on Seesaw if they get stuck, and their class teacher and learning assistants will respond as soon as possible.

If you wish your children to complete any additional work, there are lots of educational providers offering further online lessons and resources. For example, The Oak National Academy is providing daily content for every year group.
