What fantastic performers and super singers we had in our Nativity! All of Year Two were fantastic and we are very proud of all the effort they put into to making the Nativity so special. Year One and Reception were amazing too.

What a lovely morning we had decorating our tree in the bauble service. The children sang beautifully as the tree was decorated with the many baubles children had brought in. How beauftiful our tree looks!

What a fantastic day we have had! All the children looked amazing dressed up as some of the many Roald Dahl book characters. Even the teachers got into the spirit of the day. The children are spending the week writing dreams for The BFG to catch by creating their own dream jar. Look out for some of their fantastic writing on the website later this week. For now enjoy all the pictures from today. A huge thank you to all parents and carers who bought, made and created the wonderful costumes. We are so grateful for all your efforts.

Fantastic festive fun was had this afternoon. Year two had a great time making snowman. We are so grateful for all the hard work Miss Wendy did to prepare for today. We are so lucky to have her as part of our school.

Year One have had a great morning at Christmas Share. What great fun the parents had too! It was a lovely morning learning how to make a Christmas craft. The children's Christmas trees were fantastic. A big thank you to Miss Wendy for all her hard work. We just love having you in our school.

To celebrate European Day of Languages we conducted a carousel of activities which included learning some traditional French playground games and rhymes, creating our own langauge themed board games, looking at flags from around the world and learning some German.

The focus of Arts Week 2016 was the Paralympic Games. Year 2 and Year 5 worked together to complete research, writing activities and art work about the Paralympic teams from America, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. The two classes also worked together on a Samba dance, which they will perform at the Summer Fayre.
A great week was had by everyone!

This year's class assembly from Year 5 was based on Rainforests.
The children performed in the roles of many different celebrities in order to raise awareness of deforestation.

Year 5 visit to QVC, by Mrs Garton-Pope

We enjoyed our tour around their distribution centre today. There were people everywhere - about 3000 people work at this QVC site.
Thank you to the Enterprise team for winning the trip for us, and many thanks to Natalie from St Helens Chamber and the staff at QVC for allowing us to visit.
Year 3 visit the synagogue, by Mrs Garton-Pope

Today we have visited the Jewish museum in Manchester. It used to be a synagogue but is now a museum for everyone to visit. It was built in 1874 and has lots of beautiful features.
The Rabbi explained lots of different artefacts to us. We then had a pretend Bar Mitzvah ceremony which boys usually have when they turn 13 years old. We didn't have any 13 year old boys with us so used the oldest boy in the class instead!

Year 6 have been learning about light and how we see things. They know that light travels in straight lines, so if the beam from the light source is blocked by an opaque object it forms a shadow. Enjoy!

What a fantastic day Year one and two have had! They took a trip to Media City today to watch the filming of Swashbuckle. Not only that, but they got to cheer on four of their classmates as they became brave Swashbucklers trying to win back Gem's treasure from the naughty pirates. Well done to all the children who were fantastically behaved and a credit to our school.
A special well done to Annie, Layla, Rosie and Joe. You were brilliant. We can't wait to see you and all the children, who were in the audience, on CBeebies soon.

Well done to Finley Crookes for his amazing painting of a peacock. The judges thought it was so good that he was the winner of the Key Stage Two section, even beating Year 6 pupils!
