Welcome to our Year 4 Class Page. We foster a supportive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive. Our aim is for every child to meet their full potential.
Reading is at the heart of Oakdene. We ask that you read daily with your child and sign your child’s reading record each time. Children are expected to read a minimum of 5 times a week, and on one of these occasions, they are to write a short review of the chapters or books they have read. Reading books are matched to each child’s reading level, and reading records will be checked each week.
Our PE days are on Wednesdays and Fridays. Children should come to school in their PE kits.
Homework will be set each Friday, and we ask that it be returned no later than the following Wednesday- this will give all children ample time to complete their homework and fit it in around life at home.
Our school day begins at 8.45 am
Lunch is 12 pm
The end of the school day is 3.15 pm
