This half term in Music, Year 5 have been studying 'Living on a Prayer' by Bon Jovi. We have used percussion instruments to investigate the rhythm of the song and now we are learning to play the melody on the keyboards.

Year 4 had a great time in Liverpool. We visited the museum of Liverpool and learnt all about the importance of the River Mersey, we walked around the Albert Dock and we enjoyed a trip on the ferry. Why not take a look at our photos?
Cathedral Trip 2017, by Miss Bowen

On Monday 19th June we visited the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool.
The children got to visit the vestry where they learnt about the special clothing worn in the cathedral and who would wear this.
They got to look at the range of new and old stained glass windows and learnt that the windows let in light, look beautiful and tell stories.
We also had a guided tour of the cathedral with a great guide called Steve. He made it really fun for us and helped us to learn lots of things about the amazing cathedral!

This half term, Year 4 created some fantastic representations of Liverpool landmarks. We have learned super facts about famous Liverpudlians from talks off some of the class, whilst other children have amazed us with their programming skills using Scratch.

This term in Year 5 we have been studying the classic novel 'Alice In Wonderland'.
In order to get into the shoes of the characters in the book, we held our own tea party on Friday afternoon.

Congratulations to our reading week winners! Our teachers have been watching all the children this week during our reading activities. All our children have been fantastic but Olivia, Amelia, Tom, Jacob, Nathan, Callum and Francesca were spotted for doing that something extra special. As a reward they got to select a book from our book fair.

On Friday, Natalie from the Chamber came in to talk to us about setting up our own business. She brought a game with her that we played in groups and the winning group are going to represent our class at the final next week.
